Our History

Our story begins after World War II. Clarence Felder Evans, as part of his military assignment, built bridges during the Battle of the Bulge for the Army Corps of Engineers. Upon his honorable discharge from military service, he returned to South Carolina and teamed up with his cousin to form Evans Construction. The growing company provided quality craftsmanship, hired and supervised talented employees, and encouraged a sense of pride in their work that is still present today.

Over the past 75 years, the organization has gained expansive capabilities and trust, and today includes offerings across the construction and civil engineering fields. Palmetto Sitework Services was founded in 2001 to complete sitework, road and highway work, and utility projects.

Partnership. Dependability. Flexibility.

Palmetto Sitework Services builds infrastructure while building relationships. In the highway and heavy civil construction industry, every one of us loves to drive around our communities and see the projects that we have built. While what we build is important, how we do it is the foundation that sets us up for success. We do our best to provide opportunities for growth and development to our employees while striving to be one of South Carolina’s best places to work.

We Run on EOS

Palmetto Siteweork Services operates on a management framework called EOS, The Entrepreneurial Operating System. EOS is a complete, holistic system of management best practices developed and proven in over 35,000 world-class private companies. Our leaders have extensive training in using EOS tools to drive results for our clients and our team. EOS helps organizations develop and share a clear vision, establish team discipline and accountability, and pursue clear goals and metrics to support our high standards for quality and service.

Our Core Values

As part of the EOS process, our leadership team was challenged to establish Core Values for our company. To do so, we essentially held up a mirror to our workforce and listed the key characteristics of our people. These characteristics define our culture, and we stand on these values for recruitment, employee recognition, and performance reviews. Across the company, we have embraced the acronym ACDC to highlight the importance of these values in all that we do. It’s the bar that we set – the standard for how we work together and for our clients.

Positive Attitude

One of the few things we have complete control over is our attitude. Our attitude can significantly affect every person we come in contact with every day. Negativity is contagious, but so is positivity. Despite the daily struggles and challenges we may encounter, we want to maintain a positive outlook and can-do attitude.

High Character

We do the right thing even when no one is looking. We take ownership of our mistakes and follow through on what we say we will do.

Dedicated Work Ethic

Whether the employee has been with the company over 20 years or is a newcomer to the industry, our team is eager to do whatever it takes to get the job done.

We care about our people and work hard to be a place where they actually want to come to work. We care about our projects and take pride in what we do.
